HOW TO MAKE IT

1 drink

  1. 1Fill a tall, narrow glass with ice cubes.
  2. 2Pour in 15 ml sugar syrup, 30 ml lemon juice and 45 ml gin.
  3. 3Top up with 60 ml soda water.
  4. 4Give it one gentle stir.
  5. 5Garnish with a lemon slice (on the rim).

YOU'LL NEED

  • 15 mlsugar syrup
  • 30 mllemon juice
  • 45 mlgin
  • 60 mlsoda water
  • ice cubes
  • 1lemon slice

tip: Old Tom gin is a little sweeter than London dry; with it, you can use a touch less syrup.

tip: Pour the cheap things first (syrup, then lemon): if you spill, you haven't wasted the gin.
